Angelnook Gallery presents the group thematic exhibition, Spirit in Nature. This exhibition will focus on art inspired by artists’ interpretation of Spirit in Nature and will be held at the Angelnook Gallery from July 14^th-August 12^th, 2012. Eligible for all art forms relating to or gaining inspiration from Spirit in Nature.  There is life within nature and spirits from long ago imbedded in the face of the trees, ground, sky, and sometimes to a depth that is hard to perceive or pushing itself through the concrete in the road.  Depict your idea of Spirit in Nature in the way that spirits reveal themselves to you in the environment that surrounds us.  All artist interpretations of the Spirit in Nature from the realist to the abstract and conceptual will be reviewed and considered.

 

Entry Guidelines and Rules:

Eligibility and Restrictions:  This Juried show is open to all artists working in all media.  All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, digital and installation art.  Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.  Sculptural work must be no larger than 55” in height and 24” in width. Wall mounted Works must not be taller than 60” and no wider than 48”

 

Exhibition and Awards: Winning artists will be featured in a group exhibition at the Angelnook Gallery, July 14^th- August 12^th and the exhibition will be prominently displayed on the Angelnook Gallery Website.

 

Exhibition terms: All works in the show must be for sale.  The gallery will take a 50 percent commission on all sales.  Sale price is determined by the artist.

 

Entry Fees:  There is an entry fee of $15 per piece up to 5 pieces.  Artists accepted to exhibit will not be charged additional fees of any kind.  Payments may be by check or money order payable to ANGELNOOK, or by credit card using PayPal.

 

Drop off and Removal of Work:  All works must be dropped off on Wednesday July 11th from 11am-7pm. All works of art MUST be ready for display. It is the responsibility of the artist to ensure that accepted artwork is suitable for hanging (gallery standard), with hanging hardware (screw eyes and wire only – no nail hangers) or mounted and stabilized for pedestal display.  All works of art must be removed on August 14th from 11am-7pm.  If these times do not work for you contact the Angelnook Gallery to schedule another time.

 

Notification:  Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than June 23^rd  via email or phone call.  So please include this contact information. 

 

Opening Reception:   Opening will be held on July 14^th  from 5pm-8pm. Accompanied with Live music and refreshments.

 

Deadline: The Postmarked deadline is May 31st , 2012.  Entries must be postmarked by this date.

• 3^rd Place: $70 Gift Certificate to Jerry’s Artarama
• Honorable Mention: $25 Gift Certificate to Jerry’s Artarama

 

Entry Form: All entries must have entry forms properly filled out and signed by the artist. PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY. Duplicate the entry form as needed for the multiple entries. Please write Entry #1, Entry #2, etc. on the forms if submitting more than one entry to coordinate with the entry number on the back of your artwork.

 

Image Submission Guidelines: Please include Bio and Artist Statement with Submission

Online Entry: On line entries through email should attach image files.  Image files must be JPG format and should be approximately 1MB or less in size. Images may also be posted to a dedicated web page and a link provided in the page.  Web page images should not be download restricted. In Subject line please write ATTN: Divine Abstractions.  All submissions must indicate within the body of the email the following info for each work:

Your Name
“The Title”
Medium (Oil on canvas, etc)
Dimension Width” x Height” (x Depth” -if applicable)
Framed dimension Width” x Height” (x Depth” -if applicable)
$ Retail price range

 

Postal Mail Entries: Entry materials submitted via postal mail will not be returned.  All materials submitted should be disposable and will be recycled after the jury process.  Artists may submit prints, digital images on CD or DVD.

 

Prints alone: Prints of artwork may be up to 8.5” x11” and may be digital or photographic prints.  Artist name, title, size, media and price should be on the front or back of the print.

 

Digital files on CD or DVD: Digital image files may be submitted on CD or DVD discs in TIF or JPG format.  No files larger than 15MB please.  Reference prints or image identification sheet  must be included.

 

Responsibility: The greatest possible care will be taken in handling works, but no Angelnook Gallery nor any of its agents shall have any responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage to any entry from any cause whether such entry shall be on display, in storage or in transit.  Artists must carry their own insurance if deemed necessary. The Gallery requests the right to photograph work for the catalogue or press information. Submitting an entry to this exhibit implies agreement on the part of the sender with the conditions set forth above.
